Mitotic spindles disrupted by aggregates of NLS mutant ARX protein. A representative pictomicrograph of a HEK293T cell transfected with mutant Myc-ARX undergoing DNA condensation stage of mitosis shows abnormal pattern of DNA condensation (DAPI) microtubule formation (alpha-tubulin) around a large aggregate of mutant ARX protein (Myc-ARX) with the remaining Myc-ARX signal localized diffusely throughout the cell interior.
